न पुण्यं न पापं न सौख्यं न दु:खं न मन्त्रो न तीर्थं न वेदो न यज्ञः |
अहं भोजनं नैव भोज्यं न भोक्ता चिदानन्द रूप: शिवोऽहं शिवोऽहम् ||
अर्थात: न मैं पुण्य हूँ, न पाप, न सुख और न दुःख, न मन्त्र, न तीर्थ, न वेद और न यज्ञ, मैं न भोजन हूँ, न खाया जाने वाला हूँ और न खाने वाला हूँ, मैं चैतन्य रूप हूँ, आनंद हूँ, शिव हूँ, शिव हूँ…
शिव कौन हैं ?
शिव आत्म चेतना है, संसार है, निर्गुण है, सर्वशक्तिमान है, शिव संपूर्ण हैं, शिव हर तत्त्व है, शिव सर्वश्रेष्ठ है, शिव में सब विलीन हैं। भगवान शिव के कई नाम हैं। पाताल से लेकर पहाड़ों तक विराजमान शिव जी की महिमा चारों ओर गूंजती है।
शिव अहंकार को हरते हैं: शिव जी हमारे हर प्रकार के अहंकार को समाप्त कर अपनी सकारत्मक ऊर्जा के समीप लाते हैं। वे हमारी अंतरात्मा में वास करते हैं और हमें सही रास्ता दिखलाते हैं। शिव हर उस में समाते हैं जो हर तरह के भेद भाव और आसक्ति से परे हैं।
अहंकारं बलं दर्पं कामं क्रोधं च संश्रिताः। मामात्मपरदेहेषु प्रद्विषंतोअभ्यसूयकाः।
अर्थ – अहंकार, बल, घमंड, कामना, क्रोध और दूसरों की निंदा, जिनमें ये छह दुर्गुण होते हैं, वे लोग मुझे (ईश्वर) कभी नहीं देख सकते।
शिव कहां हैं ?
शिव शाश्वत हैं, अनंत हैं: शिव शाश्वत हैं, वे ऐसी ऊर्जा हैं जिसे कभी नष्ट नहीं किया जा सकता, जो कभी खत्म नहीं होती। भगवान शिव को दिव्य अंधकार भी कहा जाता है क्योंकि अंधकार का कोई स्त्रोत नहीं और जिसका कोई स्त्रोत नहीं उसका कोई अंत भी नहीं। शिव शाश्वत हैं, और किसी भी तरह की आसक्ति से परे हैं।
शिव का अर्थ क्या है?
शिव शब्द का अर्थ है, “वह जो नहीं है”। वे निराकार हैं, समय, स्थान और कर्म की द्वैतवादी दुनिया से परे हैं। शिव परम पूज्य हैं, शिव शून्यता की शक्ति हैं। शिव से ब्रह्मांड है, वे सृजन भी करते हैं और विनाश भी; और जो हर चीज़ को अर्थ देते हैं। शिव तथ्य है, शिव अर्थ है। शिव शून्य है, शून्य पूर्ण है, और पूर्ण अनंत होता है। शून्य अनादि है और अनंत भी।
शिव नीलकंठ हैं:
वे भौतिक विष जैसे लोभ, सफलता, श्रेय, तुलना, वासना से परे हैं। जैसे महादेव ने विष को अपने कंठ में इकठ्ठा कर लिया उसी तरह वे सिखाते हैं कि हर प्राणी को ऐसे भौतिक विष को अपने कंठ से भीतर प्रवेश करने नहीं देना चाहिए जिससे सारी इंद्रियां प्रभावित होती हैं। शिव का नीलकंठ रूप यही दर्शाता है कि हमें अपनी गलतियों को स्वीकार करना चाहिए और सकारात्मक भाव को अपनाना चाहिए। शिव का वास माया और मिथ्या से परे मन में होता है।
शिव त्रिनेत्रधारी हैं:
भगवान शिव अपनी ललाट पर स्थित तीसरी आंख से भूत, भविष्य और वर्तमान को देख सकते हैं। वे किसी को भी सही या गलत के मापदंड में नहीं आंकते हैं। शिव जी हमें दिखाते हैं कि हमें अपने अंतर्मन से, और विवेक से हर किसी को देखना चाहिए। भगवान शिव की तीसरी आंख की तरह हमें भी अपने अंतर्ज्ञान और मानसिक क्षमता को अपना साथी बनाकर किसी के लिए भी निर्णयात्मक नहीं होना चाहिए, बल्कि हमें सदा हर किसी में बसे शिव को ही ढूंढना चाहिए।

महाशिवरात्रि का क्या महत्व है:
महाशिवरात्रि की रात को ब्रह्माण्ड में ग्रहों और नक्षत्रों की एक अनोखी स्थिति से पूरे ब्रह्माण्ड में प्राकृतिक ऊर्जा का प्रवाह होता है। और इसीलिए महाशिवरात्रि पर हम रात भर जागरण कर इस प्राकृतिक ऊर्जा से अपनी आत्म चेतना को जागृत करते हैं। अपनी चेतना को जागरूक कर हम धारणाओं और पूर्वाग्रहों से मुक्त हो जाते हैं और एक सही दृष्टिकोण से चीजों को समझ पाते हैं।
